The new Honda Jazz is a mix of some new things and a lot of good things carried over from the old version.

It seems that Honda is just being logical about it — they don't have to fix something that doesn't need any fixing at all. But this doesn't mean that there is not much reason for us to get excited about the new Honda Jazz.
For this one, this Japanese carmaker has chosen to take the safe but commercially sound option. Taking the point of view of Honda, we can easily understand their reason for doing so. The first-gen Honda Jazz was primarily developed for the Japanese market. It became a top seller in just a few months after its official launch. Of course, Honda is not about ready to change the Jazz and mess up a formula that has brought them the money since 2001. Riding on the crest of success by the old version, we can expect Honda to bring the same familiar features to the New Honda Jazz — storage, power, size, refinement, handling and safety.
But this is where things start to get really interesting. The new generation Honda Jazz piggybacks on the success of its predecessor with improved packaging and unique styling. Its smart front-end look reminds us of the Civic Type-R, shedding off that •toy car' image associated with the old Jazz. It now has a wider stance and added packaging functionality not seen in other cars of its kind.
Honda Jazz retains the same 3 variants of the previous model — the VTi, VTi-S and GLi and the standard option of automatic and five-speed transmission. Honda has decided to do away with the current CVT transmissions present in the current Jazz model. Although this leads to higher fuel consumption based on ADR81 test standards, it is still within acceptable level.
The major shift in the transmission, Honda claims, is for a more improved driving experience. It even outfitted its 5-speed variant with steering wheel paddles, which is a first in its class. Its improved dynamics is tops among all cars in its category.
The only sour note about the New Honda Jazz is its safety features. Although the standard curtain airbags are present in 2 of its 3 models, stability control is not offered in any of them. And this safety feature is supposed to be a given in all modern cars. This can turn out to be one major issue that might heavily affect the buying decision.
