Then the salesman makes this statement.
"Hang on, I think we have made a mistake here. The price i quoted is too small and we can't sell you the vehicle you want. However, we have a similar car only it isn't the colour you want, and doesn't have the added extras that we have been talking about. But it should be within your budget."
Ouch. This hurts, because you thought you secured the car you wanted, only now you have been downgraded to a lesser vehicle. Don't fall for this trick. Stick to your guns, maintain you only will negotiate on the original car or you are walking out the door.
