Even when you think you have negotiated a great deal with the car salesman and you have agreed a price, there are still some tricks up his sleeve. One of these is the bump.

Imagine the scenario. You and the sales manager agree on a price, and you are already imagining how nice it will be to drive your new car. You will be the envy of your street. Life is looking up!
But wait a minute. Back to reality. The sales manager just has to make a final check with the regional manager. He makes the call and returns with some bad news. The boss would not allow him to make the sale at that price, it is another $1000 and that is the best they can do.
This is one of the oldest car dealer tricks in the book. Stick to your guns, maintain that you want the deal honoured at the original price.
